300mA, Thermal Folded Back CMOS LDO Regulator
General Description
Features
The RT9198T is designed for portable RF and wireless z Short Circuit Thermal Folded Back Protection
applications with demanding performance and space z Low-Noise for RF Application
requirements. The RT9198T performance is optimized for z Fast Response in Line/Load Transient
battery-powered systems to deliver ultra low noise and z Quick Start-Up (Typically 50us)
low quiescent current. Regulator ground current increases z < 0.01uA Standby Current When Shutdown
only slightly in dropout, further prolonging the battery life. z Low Dropout : 220mV @ 300mA
The RT9198T also works with low-ESR ceramic capacitors, z Wide Operating Voltage Ranges : 2.5V to 5.5V
reducing the amount of board space necessary for power z TTL-Logic-Controlled Shutdown Input
applications, critical in hand-held wireless devices. The z Low Temperature Coefficient
RT9198T consumes less than 0.01uA in shutdown mode z Current Limiting Protection
and has fast turn-on time less than 50μs. RT9198T is short
circuit thermal folded back protected. RT9198T lowers its
z Thermal Shutdown Protection
z Only 1uF Output Capacitor Required for Stability
OTP trip point from 165°C to 110°C when output short
circuit occurs (VOUT < 0.4V) providing maximum safety to
end users. The other features include ultra low dropout
z High Power Supply Rejection Ratio
z Custom Voltage Available
z RoHS Compliant and 100% Lead (Pb)-Free
voltage, high output accuracy, current limiting protection,
and high ripple rejection ratio. Available in the SOT-23-3,
SOT-23-5 and SC-70-5 packages, the RT9198T also offers
a range of 1.5V to 3.5V with 0.1V per step.
